The L.E.A.D. Foundation, Inc. through its Katherine Snorton Scholarship Program, is providing funding opportunities for metro-Atlanta graduating high school seniors, college students, and professional students.  The applications are available via the foundation's website of www.theleadfoundation.org and clicking on the link for the Katherine Snorton Scholarship Program.

Named in memory of the grandmother of one of the board members, funding opportunities are available for Metro-area high school seniors, undergraduate students, and professional students.  Priority is given to potential first generation college students from emerging communities (i.e. African-American or Spanish speaking), but all are encouraged to apply.

High school seniors must attend a metro-Atlanta high school (public or private) and are scheduled to attend a 4-year, 2-year, trade, or technical school.  Undergraduates and professional students must be from a metro-Atlanta high school or attend a 4-year, 2-year, trade, or technical school located in the metro-Atlanta area.

Last year, through its scholarship program, nearly $12,000 is awarded to students.  A similar amount is expected for the upcoming year.

Applications must be post-marked by March, 1, 2013 in order to be considered.  Scholarship recipients are to be notified of their awards by the week of March 25th (2013).

For additional information, please refer to the foundation's website of www.theleadfoundation.org; you may also call 678-632-5323 for details.
